Sandvik Mining and Construction, in partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment Europe, recently hosted a series of machinery demonstrations and customer events at Eskilstuna, Sweden, from the 4th – 7th of October. The purpose of these events was to demonstrate the synergies of the equipment available from the two companies, and to highlight the advantages customers may enjoy from the mutually compatible product lines. Additionally, Sandvik also launched some exciting new products including two new breakers.

Dem-Master Demolition Ltd recently took delivery of a new Sandvik QJ341 tracked jaw crusher from Sandvik Mobile Crushers and Screens. The Scottish company, based in Bathgate, recently named just outside the top 50 of the world’s leading 100 demolition and recycling companies, will use the crusher alongside two other Sandvik QJ341s on a variety of demolition and recycling projects throughout the UK.

The World Tunnel Congress 2018 is taking place in Dubai, United Arabic Emirates from April 22nd to the 26th. The world's leading tunneling event brings together experts from all around the world. As a proud bronze sponsor of the event Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is participating. At the Sandvik stand there will be the possibility to see an iSURETM software demo and to find out more about Sandvik's array of tunneling solutions.

Despite the successful receipt among the tunneling sites, further development of the DTi series is continuously on-going. Since the launch, the fruits of that work have brought into the machines additional practical features for accurate and fast tunneling such as WLAN remote access, iBOLT systematic bolting and total station navigation. Aspects of work site safety have been also carefully considered in the Sandvik DTi series, and the latest news include, among others, an Access Detection System that stops feed and rotation if a person is entering the working area of the booms. Other recently introduced features are high frequency RD5 series rock drills for optimized performance, and TIER4 engines.

EN 16228 is a new safety standard series introducing a number of new requirements for surface drill rigs and associated equipment. The standard came into force on December 1st 2014 necessitating intensive product development. Due to Sandvik's commitment to safety, these changes were warmly embraced with implementation work beginning in 2013 resulting in the first surface drill rig complying with the new standard, a Ranger DX, being successfully delivered to its customer on December 8 th 2014.

Foran Mining has selected Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions to supply a fleet of 20 battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), including trucks, loaders and drills, for its McIlvenna Bay project in Saskatchewan, Canada. Set to be the world’s first carbon-neutral copper development project, McIlvenna Bay will be powered by clean hydroelectric power and designed to take advantage of Sandvik’s latest technological advances in sustainable mining.

Sandvik DD2710 is a compact, single-boom electro-hydraulic jumbo. It is designed for development drilling in narrow veins, mass mining and tunneling, in cross sections up to 34 m². It delivers reliability and a good performance-to-cost ratio for 2.7 x 2.7-meter drifts
