Sandvik DS422iE is a battery-powered cable bolter designed for cement-grouted cable bolt installation and can tram, drill and grout on battery power. The bolter can install up to 25-meter-long cable bolts with several steel strands per hole and has an onboard automatic cement mixer and cement silo.

The Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry offers 109 kWh (2 x 54,5 kWh) usable energy onboard. The intelligent power management system, Charging While Drilling enables battery charging to be carried out during normal drilling cycles to ensure maximum tramming energy is available. In unstable electric power situation, work can continue using the power from the batteries to support the grid weakness.
