How do I arrive independently?
This information applies if you are arriving or departing outside the organised transportation schedule, or if you have chosen to make your own travel arrangements.
Travelling to Tampere from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport
The easiest way to reach Tampere independently is by train.- Take a local train from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Tikkurila Station.
- From Tikkurila, board a long-distance VR train to Tampere (journey time approximately 1 hour 30 minutes).
- Tickets can be purchased in advance via the VR website or at station ticket machines.
- Wi-Fi is available on long-distance trains.
If you are staying in Helsinki before the event, you can also travel directly from Helsinki Central Railway Station to Tampere. Trains run frequently and the journey takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes.
Getting around in Tampere
All official event hotels are located in Tampere city centre, approximately 10 minutes' walk from Nokia Arena.
As a result, no shuttle buses will operate between the hotels and Nokia Arena during the conference.
Getting around in Turku
Transportation is provided between the official hotels, event venues and evening functions, as these locations are further apart than in Tampere.
Arriving in Sandviken
If you are arriving or departing Sandviken outside of the organized event agenda transportation schedule, please contact the Rock Tools event team and we will make sure the best travel option is presented to you:

If you require transport outside the organised shuttle schedule, your hotel reception can assist with booking a taxi.
Uber and Bolt are both widely available in Helsinki, Tampere and Turku. Both apps provide an upfront fare before booking and accept international payment cards.

How do I book my hotels?
Finland (Tampere and Turku)
Hotel bookings should be made using the hotel booking links provided in your registration confirmation email.
Please use these official booking links, as they allow us to allocate you to the correct hotel and organise event transportation. Shuttle buses will only operate to and from the official partner hotels.

How do I obtain a visa invitation letter?
If you require an invitation letter to support your visa application, please complete your event registration first.
After registering, send your request to events.mining@sandvik.com, together with a copy of your passport. We will then prepare and issue your invitation letter as soon as possible.

How do I update my registration information (program, flights)?
After 7 August, new registrations will close. However, you can still update your existing registration until 14 August by returning to the registration page. This includes:
- Flight information
- Programme selections
- Dietary requirements
- Other registration details
After 14 August, any further changes should be sent by email to events.mining@sandvik.com.
If you require organised airport transportation, please ensure your flight details are included in your registration. If you are travelling independently, no flight information is required.
If you have not yet booked your hotel by the time registrations close, don't worry. The hotel booking links and contact details (see "How do I book my hotel?") will remain available on the registration page, allowing you to complete your hotel booking after 7 August.

Will interpretation services be provided at the event?
Interpretation will be available on the Conference Day (1 September) at Nokia Arena in the following languages:

No installation is required in advance. The interpretation service will be accessed via a web link or app using your own smartphone.
We recommend bringing your own headphones for the best listening experience.

Is there a dress code?
Customers: Smart casual attire is recommended and will be appropriate for all event activities.
Please note that the programmes in Sandviken, Tampere and Turku include tours of our production facilities. For safety reasons, all visitors are required to wear full-length trousers. Skirts and dresses are not permitted during the factory tours.
Employees: Sandvik booth staff and employees working at demo stations, displays or other event activities are advised to wear a Sandvik shirt.

Do I need the event mobile app?
Yes. All participants are required to download the event mobile app.
The app will be available approximately two weeks before the event, and all registered participants will receive instructions on how to download and access it.
