Sandvik introduces end-to-end resin bolting solutions

Sandvik is advancing its underground ground support portfolio with the addition of fully integrated, end-to-end resin bolting solutions that raise the bar for safety, quality and productivity across global mining operations.

By unifying Sandvik underground drill rigs, pumpable resin systems, resin capsule injection technologies, chemical products and a comprehensive bolt portfolio into one engineered package, the offering ensures that every component works seamlessly together, even in the most challenging geological conditions.

This single-supplier approach delivers enhanced installation efficiency, increased safety, and reliable ground support systems backed by Sandvik’s extensive testing capabilities and expert application guidance.

The Sandvik resin bolting portfolio includes pumpable resin systems for the Sandvik DD422i/iE Dual Controls development drills and DS412i/iE and DS512i i-series rock bolters, as well as the Automatic Resin Capsules Injection System (ARI) for i-series bolting rigs. The sealed pumpable resin system removes the need for manual chemical handling and integrates directly into the equipment control interface. Operators can manage each step, from resin mixing to injection and curing, safely from inside the cabin, improving both operational control and process consistency.

The ARI system supports efficient ground-level loading and automated capsule injection. While the system inserts the resin capsules, operators are free to perform other tasks, accelerating cycle times and reducing physical exposure to hazards. These advancements are redefining efficiency and safety in resin bolting.

Completing the solution is a lineup of market-leading chemical products and an extensive bolt offering. Mineral Bolt, a two-component urea-silicate resin, is available in a range of formulations with variable setting times, allowing mines to match resin performance to local ground conditions.

For operations relying on resin capsules, Fasloc® capsules are available in multiple variants and manufactured across a global footprint to meet regional demand. The package is further strengthened by DSI Hollow Bar System with hollow and self-drilling bolts, along with a broad selection of solid rebar and dynamic bolts. This ensures that customers can pair the optimal bolt type with the right resin technology.

Together, these technologies enhance safety by removing manual handling of chemicals, improving ground support in weak rock conditions and reducing operator exposure. Automated resin dosing ensures consistent installation quality, while high onboard resin capacities, adjustable curing times and faster cycles support significant productivity gains.

Sandvik’s new end-to-end resin bolting solutions represent a major step forward in modern automated ground support, delivering the safety, reliability and performance required for today’s underground mining environment.
